May 14, 2005
Dear friends in sailing:
It's that time of the year when sailing is more than a passing memory but instead,
looked forward to with anticipation. Thanks to all for your help and cooperation this
past year at the banquet and later in preparing for the upcoming season. We will
institute a few changes for the year, but we hope for the better. Any suggestions from
the membership will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to talk to any member of the
executive committee with suggestions.
Please regularly check the web site for any additional announcements. This will be
the only official mailing for the year unless you prefer "snail mail"; in which case
indicate on your registration form and we will try to accommodate.
Items for the upcoming year:
- Please note the race schedule below with openings. Contact me if you're willing
to help with them.
- Race times are 2:00 pm for the pre-race count down. The flags may be set out by a
member of the executive committee by 1:00 pm for a pre race regatta cruise or informal
private racing. If interest warrants it, we could formalize that time period as a
second race later in the year.
- On the LIMYRU website, you can find the 2005 LIMYRU Registration Form.
Please print it, fill it out and mail $25.00 to the purser, Chuck McClead.
- Make sure your e-mail address is correct on the LIMYRU web site
and your regular summer and permanent addresses are correct on the registration form.
- Scott Fraser will be conducting a sailing course for a week during the season
with the finale being participation in one of our races. If you are willing to help
Scott, e-mail him. More details to come at the opening meeting.
- First race getogether will be at Bob Fraser's abode at 10 am on July 3.
- Anyone interested in hosting a pre race get-together, please inform a member of
the executive committee.
- Check your boat hardware and safety equipment. Any questions, contact executive
committee member.
- First place awards should be updated at Atlantic Awards if you have not already done so.
- If you are aware of anyone interested in sailing, on or off the lake, give their
name to an executive committee member. The 1:00 pm cruise would be a perfect time to aquaint
them with the club.
- Please find enclosed a list of Right of Way rules. Please read!
