Sailors,

Race # 2 is in the books. It was a nice day with good wind. It was good to see the displacement boats on the water but there were only 2 Cats out for the race. There would have been 3 but Aaron Brasslet had a problem and had to be towed back. Thanks to Doug Kell Sr. for making the new marks. They are 8' long, 6" PVC pipe with the top 3' painted orange. We had 2 last week to see if they would work, which they did, and there will be 4 this week. They are much easier to see than the flags. The wardens asked us to sail in front of the islands because of the boat wreck.

Ivan Bush is doing the committee boat for Race # 3 this weekend. We still need volunteers for the committee boat for Aug. 3, 10 and 30.

If you have not paid your dues, please bring a check to the ice cream social at the Kell's after the race on Sunday.

The BDN published the results again in Tuesday's paper.

A suggestion has been made that when the wind is good, the race be extended to 2 X's around the course. That can be done at the discretion of the committee boat.

See you on the water and at the ice cream social.

Dick Laferte
Commodore

LIMYRU FLASH!!!

Just had a call from WLBZ Chan. 2. They want to send a camera crew to film the race on Sunday for the statewide news! They will want to interview a couple of people for comments and film at least the start of the race.

We can get some good publicity from this, so lets get as many boats as possible out on the water!

Let me know if you are willing to be interviewed.

Ivan, they will come to the LBC, so you can pick them up there with the committee boat.
