Dear friends in sailing:

It’s that time of year when sailing is more than a passing memory but instead, looked forward to with anticipation. Let me begin by thanking all of you for your help this past year. I know that we instituted a lot of changes, I hope for the better. From here on, begin regularly checking our web page for announcements as this will be the only anticipated mailing of the year (excepting those without net access: let me know if that is the case with you).

Items for the upcoming year:

- Dick Laferte has ordered new hats of two different types that we will make available for the membership. One is for "show" and the other more practical for sailing. A firm price has not been established at this time. Let you know when available.

- A friendly reminder to check your boats for the upcoming year for proper safety equipment.

- A reminder to all those who won first place awards to drop your plaques off at Atlantic Awards to have them updated; charged to the Yacht Club.

- We have other office positions to fill in the Yacht Club. Please indicate on the membership form if you are interested. We are especially looking for a new commodore, as this is presently a two-year position.

- The first race of the year will be preceded by a get together at our house in the narrows at 10 a. m. on July 2nd. Directions on the web site in June. It would be great to have everyone there.

- Anyone else interested in hosting a get-together before or after one of the races, please contact me.

- If you are interested in filling in on the committee boat and have not as yet been contacted, please indicate so on your memberships sign up sheet. We still have 5 races open.

- If you are aware of anyone else who may be interested in joining the club, give them my name, address and phone number, or give me theirs so that I may send them a form.

- Please return your membership forms with check made out to LIMYRU by the first race. The earlier the better.

- Doug Merrill and Chuck McClead are looking at a pre season regatta, possible at Green Lake on or about the 18th of June. Check the web page for details by the first week in June or contact Doug or Chuck.
